Presenting…the JW Award!

The JW Award was named after John “JW” Widmayer, owner of #45 Orange Crush, for his enthusiastic CCR-racing wardrobe.  With matching swim shorts, t-shirt, watch, and stylish helmet – JW definitely coordinates his apparel with his boat!  This award was presented for the first time at Oktoberfest 2014, to husband-and-wife team Kim and Gretchen Granbery.  Each brought 2 “costumes” for the day:  Kim’s cone-head and Gretchen’s cocktail glass-covered helmet were fun spins on CCR racing, and their evening attird for the RHYC’s Halloween party was fantastic!  A big thank you to Kim and Gretchen for your continued enthusiasm!

This award may be presented at future events to the best dressed, most color-coordinated, or most outlandish racer of the regatta.  Start planning your racing wardrobe for the 2015 season – we look forward to your creativity!
