Regional Fleet Captain, Chris Norman, is planning a race for this September 2019 at Lake Pickwick! More details coming soon! If you think you can attend we would love to hear from you!
March 29, 2019 at 10:29 pm #10947Terry K (TK) WalkerParticipantKim, I received this today and as a non-reply Email… I really am confused about what the question is … And there is no way to reply ?? Here was the Email … So I am replying here and really not sure what the question is ??? And I Quote…
“Southern Comfort is the nickname for the Southern Region which is Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas area.
The “Appalachian Region” nicknamed Moonshiners for now is West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama.
Let me know if you have any other ideas!”
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN, other ideas, about what ?
What does this have to do with the regions or race … The last time I looked at an Historical map New Mexico, Oklahoma, And Kansas they are not considered Southern States .. I think the Appalachians is a bad reference because it does not define the South … This is a real overload on Chris Norman to cover the 7 states , (Kentucky, and West Virginia) Which should be reassigned to another Region. Georgia, and Fla. is assigned as South East Region (only two States) … Combine these two states in to the Moonshine Region… And reassign the KY and West VA. If this is the question you are asking ??
As far as Chris’s meet on Pickwick Lake it would be fantastic… I have talked to Chris about this meet and other members especially from your neck of the woods .. I have volunteered my services to Chris … WE will be there….

This puts more light on the email I received from you. Most of this below was left out. As far as your question you need to talk to Chris .. As far as I m concerned the Appalachian to the Gulf Region is fine with me as well as the Moonshiners nick name … But there again contact Chris … TK
Southern Comfort is the nickname for the Southern Region which is Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas area.
The “Appalachian Region” nicknamed Moonshiners for now is West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. You would like am updated Regional designation and keep Moonshiners or do you want a new nickname? We could call it Appalachian to the Gulf Region since it has grown so big.
Eight Regions so far:
Southeast Region (FL,GA) – RUMRUNNERS
Carolina Region (NC,SC) – *Need a nickname still*
MidAtlantic Region (DE, MD, NJ, VA, PA) – *Need a nickname still*
Northeast Region (ME, VT, NH, NY, CT, MA, RI) – *Need a nickname still*
Pacific Region (OR, WA, UT, NE, CA, ID) – *Need a nickname still*
Southern Region (TX, KS, OK, NM, AZ) – SOUTHERN COMFORT
Midwest Region (MN, MI, MO, MT, WI, CO, IL, IN, IA, ND, SD) – BOOTLEGGERS
Appalachian Region (TN, WV, KY, AL, AR, LA, MS) – MOONSHINERS
Let me know if you have any other ideas!

March 30, 2019 at 11:49 am #10951Christopher NormanParticipantThe current available dates for September are the 7th or the 28th. There is a scheduled race on the 14 and a scheduling conflict for the racers from Texas. I will keep a running update on the forum but feel free to call.
Thanks,
Chris Norman
