I came up with a nice little fix to keep your Tohatsu on the back of your boat. There is a small aluminum bar screwed to the transom bracket that I replaced with a wider plate with holes that align up to the placement of the 8HP bolts for OMC motors. It requires a 2 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ x 1/8″ metal, a hacksaw and a drill. I used stainless steel, but aluminum would work fine. I can provide a template to get the spacing correct if needed.
Our National Fleet Captain advises that a pair thumbscrews is not really enough to keep the HotSu attached.
