ParticipantI’ve seen a curved metal bow handle on several boats in the various photos and in person. This particular handle looks like half of a heart shape, or like a question mark, and curves inward on the front end.
Right now I’m looking at a picture of #14 as one example of this handle, although there are others that have it. See #14 in the foreground of this picture:

I’ve done some casual searching on-line and haven’t found it. Can anyone direct me to a source for this handle?

ParticipantHi Marty,
I found mine on Amazon. They are still available here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005FCI7OE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

ParticipantI see that this handle is made of cast zinc. Is that strong enough to carry the front of the boat without worry?
I have my eyes on some stainless steel handles for the back, but I really like the look of this curved handle for the front.

ParticipantMarty, this is my 5th year using that bow handle and the boat is often carried with the motor mounted. So yes, it can handle the weight. I also got chrome plated cast zinc handles for my transom, and same as for the bow handle, I got them on Amazon. KeymasterJust a FYI, the bow handle is from the AMF Sunfish sailboat, a small sailboat that has been around for many many years. Because they are made of zinc, they will not hold up as long as quality stainless steel, but they still do quite well. I’ve seen a lot of old ones, but never seen a broken one!

ParticipantThis is the link for the bow handle, the previous links took me to the stern handles.

ParticipantI was able to get the bow handle and a beautiful pair of polished stainless steel transom handles from Amazon. The bow handle might be zinc, but it’s chromed nicely and looks great.
Now we have to finish the boat so we can attach the handles. Just one more coat of paint before the transom handles go on, but the bow handle will have to wait a while longer.
