Q: How does one make a workable kill switch with a lanyard to the driver for the Johnson 1968 6 HP Model CD-25C? (transferred from Groupspaces)
A: I use a Seadog Universal kill switch mounted on a bracket near the front of the cockpit. The switch is available from Duckworksbbs.com for around 10 bucks. Make sure to waterproof all connections. If you search the web for” CCWBRA kill switch”, I think you will locate instructions for your vintage motor.
My 6r 74c Johnson doesn’t have a ground strap under armature plate. To install a kill switch, is it proper to run a wire from kill switch to each set of points, basically a jumper between points when activated? Thanks Owen
