So excited to announce that we have 4 CLC kits on their way to Wylie TX (Dallas/Ft. Worth area) for the newest group building project! If you are in the area and would like to participate in fun runs this Summer and Fall, please let us know!

There are 4 of us who have purchased the CLC kits and we have 2 sets of plans floating around, too, within the group.
CLC has given us an estimated 2 week lead time on shipping the kits; we may be starting our builds right around April 1.
I’m planning a varnished boat with a whimsical cocktail inspired name. I’ll start a build thread once I get the kit and get started.

Glad to hear that your fixing to start a new adventure in to CCWBRA racing … This section of the forums is a good place to look and see and ask questions . My Son and I are in the process of building as I write this and completion is in site. Marty has been helpful as well as others to aid in any questions that you may have in your project .. The technical and rules can also be answered as well but may need to be addressed specifically to the proper committee …

Remember to cut the keels 12 inches short of the transom, per the new rules. I don’t know if the CLC instructions have been updated.
Terry’s build threads have great pictures and comments. He obviously knows what he’s doing.
My build thread is wordier, but it does have some hints and comments that should be useful, and shameful descriptions of some mistakes we made along the way.
The kit manual is good but not perfect, and you’ll have to improvise and modify in a few places. Be sure to constantly read ahead in the manual so you know what’s coming and can decide if the described sequence of events works for you.
