Governor’s Cup 2019
Enjoy the slideshow!
The 2019 Governor’s Cup at the Smyrna Yacht Club was once again a memorable day. This year the conditions were those that we hope for each year; warm weather, calm waters, low winds, and a nice mix of sun and clouds. It is always such a pleasure to welcome fellow CCWBRA members and truly appreciate all for traveling to Florida for the first two races of the year.
Camaraderie at the pre-race party was a great start with steel drums poolside under a beautiful spring sky. Saturday’s race provided much entertainment for the large spectator crowd at the Tiki with plenty of action to include a minor crash (with no damages or injury) and several tight finishes. After christening his new boat #500 at the Midwinter Regatta, Rick Lowen went for the full experience and flipped during the Governor’s Cup winning the ‘not-so-coveted’ Turtle Club sticker.
Many thanks to all participating CCWBRA racers, our committee boat members, safety boat, registration volunteers, and all others who made this event spectacular.
Hope to see you all next Winter!
