The Tennessee event on Sept 12th is canceled. We will still have a presence at the State Park since there was some advertising.

We moved our Pickwick Landing, TN event to Sept 12, 2020. Our hope is that we can continue to grow interest in our local area. We will have as many as eight local boats at the event.   (two available to let future CCWBRA Members take a spin but I am not advertising that)
I have a maximum group size of fifty, so I have done very little advertising. We have approval from the State Park, but I did not pursue an approved Racecourse due to insurance reasons.
Everyone is welcome but without a sanctioned Race, I have discouraged long range travelers until the Tennessee Cup next year. There is still plenty to do and the Lake is calm and beautiful this time of year. Shiloh National Battlefield and River canoeing are also local attractions.

    Lou,

I’m assuming you mean the Urbanna Cup. It has always been a Saturday event. Early on they also had a fun run on Sunday but I don’t believe they do that anymore. I’m only a participant but I have attended five times.

Real Nice! Inaugural Race and christening in Tennessee?

    Ben,

Your boat is coming along real well. It looks like you will be ready for the Tennessee Race. Would you let your group know that we moved the race to the 7th of September. I posted the update on the Forum today.

    Thanks,

    Chris Norman

The current available dates for September are the 7th or the 28th. There is a scheduled race on the 14 and a scheduling conflict for the racers from Texas. I will keep a running update on the forum but feel free to call.

    Thanks,

    Chris Norman

in reply to: Using Thrust Brackets? #10918

    Ben,

I don’t use a Thrust Bracket but I may be the closest person with a race ready boat.  I live in Memphis but I boat on the Tennessee River. We are considering a race in September, or at least a gathering. Take a look at Pickwick Lake, TN and let me know if you are interested. We have two boats committed and a very strong possibility of a third (TK finish your Boat). Others have shown interest and this is without any advertising of the event.

I have 8 motors and I’m willing to share if that is an issue.

Regional Fleet Captain (a lot of States, very few Boats)

BTW I race in the Heavy Class

in reply to: New Name for the Region #10317

I’m having trouble with my Fleet Captain Email. I will send out a group Email as soon as I can get the CCWBRA set up. I think the bugs will get worked out as we start using this new system.

TK, your name choices are good. I am hoping for a bigger response and then holding a vote. As geographically large as this region is, all but two members are from Tennessee.

I don’t thing we can get the participation for a National Race in the near future. I do plan to bring my second Boat to Pickwick lake and sponsor a “Fun Run”. Prizes, Food, Cocktails and Lodging will be arranged. I’m thinking about early Fall.

    Chris
