CCWBRA members participated in the Poquoson Seafood Festival Workboat Races by staging informal CCR demonstration races. Eight CCRs were raced by: Bill Kurz, Chris Riddick, Eben Townes, Ian Millington, Jack Pettigrew, Lawrence Fuccella, Mac Hall and Bill Yoke. Curt and Nancy Bluefeld and Lynn Yoke provided race support and interfaced with the public. CCR enthusiasts from the new CCWBRA group in Mathews, VA also attended.
Our demo races consisted of two heat races, with 4 CCRs per heat, and a finals race. The picutre to the right is of the awards presentation for our races. Chris placed 1st in heat one with Lawrence taking 2nd. Ian placed 1st in heat two with Jack Pettigrew taking 2nd. These four competed in a runoff race for “King of The Bay”, won by Chris.
