CCR Static Display & Races at The WoodenBoat Show
The WoodenBoat Show at Mystic Seaport was a great success! Thankfully we had a booth right on the waterfront which kept us cool with a breeze everyday. A continual stream of people were interested, the most excited of which was a 14-year-old young man from Sakonnet, Rhode Island, which Kim got out in a CCR, and a 16-year-old young woman who built one in Bridgeport, Connecticut and is building another this year! A 10-year-old went for a ride, rumble seat style, and the grin was ear-to-ear! We heard lots of stories from the golden years of outboard racing contingent, we hooked some of our comtemporaries, and Building Manuals were sold. Mystic Seaport won the coveted CCWBRA Hat thanks to Brian from the Conrad program and Scott from the duPont shipyard. After hours, Havin’ Fun had the distinction of being the first CCR to wet her bottom in a swimming pool!! We’ll leave the rest to your imagination. Thank you Allertons, Bluefelds, Granberys, Edmonds, Johnsons, Pettigrews, and Steffes for your enthusiasm and help. A great time was had by all!
